Case Study: Turanga Health

How do you encourage people of all different fitness levels to get out and get active?  This was the challenge from Turanga Health.

Turanga Health was all about helping their clients make and sustain positive changes, offering primary health care services and support health services. Outdoor activities were a prime focus, and outdoor fitness stations were an obvious extension.

Playco proposed 5 Urbanix Fitness Stations, specially designed to allow users to exercise the core muscle groups, while at the same time undertaking cardio-vascular workouts.

We recommended Urbanix equipment because of its reputation for being resistant to environmental damage like vandalism and the harsh New Zealand sun.

We also knew that it would respond well to a wide range of users through its unique adjustable load system. This meant any user could easily dial in a suitable load weight to start easy, and progress to more as they extend themselves with repeat use.

Unlike many other fitness stations, the Urbanix system did not use body weight to provide resistance.  This meant that even heavier users could get underway without excess stress or maxing out the machines.
